How the Humidification System Works

Humidity sensing: The sensor detects the relative humidity inside the cigar cabinet and sends the reading to the controller.
Automatic response: When humidity drops to the selected start point, the humidifier begins operating automatically.
Evaporative humidification: Wet filter media draws water from the reservoir. The fan passes dry cabinet air through the moist media, increasing humidity without spraying visible mist directly onto cigars.
Automatic standby: After the selected stop point is reached, the unit enters standby and waits for the next humidity cycle.

Quick Setup

Place the unit: Position the humidifier level at the bottom of the cigar cabinet. Keep the air inlet and outlet unobstructed.
Position the sensor: Place the humidity sensor in the main storage area, away from direct airflow, wet surfaces, lights and the water outlet.
Add water: Fill through the water inlet with distilled or purified water. Watch the level indicator and do not overfill.
Connect power: Plug the unit into a suitable 110 V / 60 Hz outlet. Press the power button if the screen displays OFF.
Set humidity: Choose the start and stop RH values on the control panel. Many cigar-storage applications use approximately 65–72% RH, but the preferred setting depends on cigar type and storage conditions.
Allow stabilization: After initial setup or a large refill, keep the cabinet closed and allow time for the cabinet, cedar and cigar boxes to reach equilibrium.

Placement Tips for More Even Humidity

Install the humidifier on a stable, level surface at the bottom of the cabinet.
Leave open space around the fan inlet and humidified-air outlet.
Do not place cigar boxes directly against air vents.
For tall or densely loaded cabinets, leave small gaps around shelves and boxes so air can circulate vertically.
Position the sensor near the center of the storage zone—not directly above the humidifier.
During the first several days, compare the display with a calibrated independent hygrometer and adjust the set points if required.

Water and Maintenance

Use clean water: Distilled or purified water helps reduce mineral deposits, odors and buildup in the tank and wet media.
Do not overfill: Stop filling before the level exceeds the maximum mark.
Check regularly: Inspect the water level and cabinet humidity at least weekly until you know the normal refill pattern for your installation.
Clean the tank: Disconnect power before maintenance. Empty and wipe the tank periodically with a clean, soft cloth; do not use strongly scented cleaners.
